    Event Details:

Searching for Light and Shade on the Street.

This workshop is for 5 people only and is £75.00 per person.

This is an advanced workshop that will challenge the way you think about light and the way you see and visualise an image.

This is the first in a new series of workshops focusing on exploring photography. It’s about being selective in our thought process, exploring what makes a great image and what to look for when you are out and about. The first Workshop is more about light and shade than people and subjects but we will be photographing people in the Street as well as each other.

There is so much more to photography than lots and lots of gear. That new camera or lens might inspire you for a while but it does really boil down to camera craft and learning to see! You need to find inspiration out there on the Streets, you can then get out there and explore the Streets and be inspired by your own creativity.

You must be able to use and understand your camera to attend this workshop, although hints and tips will be given throughout the day.

We all know it’s the person behind the camera that makes and creates the image and the camera is just the tool. This workshop will help you to look at light in a whole new way and show you what you should be looking for and how to create a more impactful image.

This workshop will explore light and shade in the Street Photography environment and focus on making the available light we have on any given day work to our advantage with our own creative vision.

We will start off discussing 'Light' over a coffee then go out around the city searching for some great Streets with interesting light and shade and practise crafting and shaping light with the use of our camera settings and position, as well as the use of shadow and shade for creativity.

We will break for Lunch about midday and discuss the mornings findings before heading back out on the streets for the afternoon session.

If you are interested in taking your Street Photography up a level, then this workshop is for you.

Full info will be sent out one week before this workshop.

    Terms and conditions.

We are unable to give a full refund in the event of non-attendance without notice, regardless of the circumstances. We will try to find you another place on a similar course or you can nominate a friend to take your place.

In the event of sufficient notice being given (two months) we will refund 75% of your payment, the remainder will cover the administration costs of refilling the place.

We also reserve the right to cancel any of the workshops if there is insufficient demand. We will confirm the workshop is running two months before the actual date so please don’t leave it too late in booking your place.

Tickets are not transferable without first contacting us.

Tickets cannot be exchanged, transferred, or resold for commercial gain.

No food drink, accommodation or transport, is provided unless stated.

Please note Travel and equipment insurance is not included, please provide your own if required, as Matthew Hart Photography Ltd cannot accept any liability for loss damage or injury to you, your vehicle or equipment.

We do not tolerate racial, sexual, religious or abusive behaviour whether it be verbal or physical from any clients, either towards our staff or other attendees, should you take part in any behaviour which is deemed unsuitable you will be removed from the workshop without a refund. Event Details:

Welcome to the first in a series of Cityscape experience days with Matt Hart. These first experience days are to show you some of Matts favourite places for photography in some of Liverpool’s amazing buildings and spaces. Matt’s passion is to bring like-minded people together away from social media to explore a UK city as a group, a mini city Photography break.

There are only 5 places available on this workshop and the price is £69.99

Explore the iconic city of Liverpool with its world famous waterfront. The city that is loved for its humour and rich heritage.

During the day we will cover a range of techniques required for urban photography. We will explore Light, composition and moment to create impactful images and talk about the best kit including lenses to create different effects and why some lenses are better than others.

Learn or refresh your skills with the various controls and settings on your camera including the exposure triangle and white balance.

The city breaks are geared towards photographers with a basic knowledge of their cameras that want to get out in a group and explore their photography further, learn new skills and explore cities with like-minded people.

You can only learn so much from YouTube and social media before you want to get out and explore. Most of the time you still have lots of questions about the exposure triangle or camera settings, in these group sessions you can ask all the questions you like and no question is a silly question.

On the day we will start off in one of the UK’s biggest Cathedrals and then make our way around the city. Over the course of the workshop we will explore some great buildings and spaces in Liverpool.

The fee includes entrance fee to the top of the Cathedral Tower to shoot the cityscape from all directions and morning coffee or tea.

Lee filters will be available for the day and are also included in the fee. You will need to email Matt with your filter sizes and requirements before the experience day.

Full information will be sent out one week before the event.

     You will need to bring.

A Camera that has a Bulb Setting

A range of lenses from wide to telephoto.

A tripod and a cable release or electronic release.

    Spare batteries

Clothing that reflects the weather conditions.

    Event Details:

Learning to see and projects only £49.99

Photography is about learning to see. We all think we know what makes the perfect image but most of the time we are blind to what makes a visually stunning image. We can’t work out why some people get 10,000 likes on facebook and we only get a few. We think our images are better, but are they? We put it down to the fact they have more friends than us or we use the most over used word in photography “well its subjective isn’t it” but is it?

This workshop is aimed to explore by debate how we learn to see a great image. Some people can go their whole photograpic journey without being able to see and this workshop aims to show you the way. There will be debate and critique and this will help you to take your photography to the next level.

The day will start at 10.30am and finish at 16.30 with a break for lunch.

It will be mostly classroom based for the whole session.

Any make of camera or smart phone is welcome.

If you have ever tried to tear up a photograph of a friend or relative and found it very difficult then this workshop is for you as we are going to explore emotion and feeling.

I did this workshop in 2017 as a one off but I have been asked to repeat it as so many people got so much out of the last one is a one so I have managed to squeeze one in to 2018.

The style of Critique on this workshop is unique to this course and benefitted all attendees last year.

There are 16 places on this workshop and the cost is £49.99

    We will be exploring: -

    Light, Composition, Moment.

    Art, Museums.

    Black and White v Colour

    Emotion

    Subjectivity

    Critique

    Magic

    Social Media

    PS V Lightroom

    Happy Image

    Ugly Image

    Dilution

    Projects

    Collections

    Addiction

    What you need to bring:

    An open mind.

1 image of your best images on a Pen Drive.

Note pad and pen or tablet.

Tea and Coffee will be provided.

Full info will be sent out one week before this one-off Workshop.

We apologise but there is no disabled access as the training room is up two flights of stairs
